The actuating valve is a type of valve that is operated by human power through devices such as handwheels, handles, levers or chain wheels. It can enhance the torque through worm gears or gear reducers and be operated over long distances using universal joints and transmission shafts. As a control component of the pipeline fluid transportation system, it has functions such as diversion, cutoff, regulation, throttling, backflow prevention and pressure relief. The nominal diameter range varies from micro instrumentation valves to 10-meter industrial pipeline valves, with working pressures ranging from 0.0013 MPa to 1000 MPa, and the temperature tolerance range is from -269°C to 1430°C. The valve body materials include metals, non-metals and composite materials with linings, and the connection methods include threads, flanges and welding forms [1]. 
This valve is classified by purpose into categories such as shut-off valves, check valves, safety valves, etc. The manual driving method is commonly used in types such as gate valves, globe valves and ball valves. It is used in pipeline interruption scenarios for equipment maintenance in the metallurgical industry and is applied to nuclear-grade and non-nuclear-grade valves in the French ITER controlled nuclear fusion project. Patent technologies include a locking mechanism that can lock the cap at any position, an elastic sealing component that realizes self-closing function, and a sub-valve design with a compact sealing structure in high-pressure gas cylinder combination valves.
