The working principle of the rodless cylinder is the same as that of the ordinary cylinder, except for the different external connections and sealing methods.
Both sides of the cylinder are hollow, and the permanent magnet inside the piston rod drives another magnet outside the piston rod (the moving part). It has very high requirements for cleanliness, and the magnetic coupling rodless cylinder often needs to be disassembled and cleaned with gasoline, which is related to its working environment.
The rodless cylinder has a piston but no piston rod. The piston device is in the guide rail, and the external load is connected to the piston. The movement is driven by air intake.
The magnetic coupling motion is achieved by using the permanent magnet inside the hollow piston rod to drive another magnet outside the piston rod to move. Because it is fast and has a high load, the inner and outer magnetic rings are prone to disengage when the speed and load are high. Therefore, it is not widely used. The size of the load capacity depends on the characteristics curve of its mass and speed. Therefore, mechanical ones are used more frequently.
The piston is driven by magnetic force to move synchronously with the moving part outside the cylinder. Its working principle is: a set of high-strength magnetic permanent rings are installed on the piston. The magnetic lines pass through the thin-walled cylinder and interact with another set of magnetic rings outside. Due to the opposite magnetic properties of the two sets of magnetic rings, there is a strong suction force. When the piston is pushed by the air pressure inside the cylinder, the magnetic force drives the magnetic ring sleeve outside to move together. The thrust of the cylinder piston must be adapted to the suction force of the magnetic ring.
